This mirror is reproduced from a magnificent English antique made between 1710 and 1730, from the Colonial Williamsburg collections. The frame is made of rich gilt gesso and is decorated with a carved shell and two eagle heads. The mirrors late-baroque styling is apparent in its ornately carved motifs and its symmetrical design.
